Logged Dives: 10 000+

Instructor since: 1999

Courses taught: 1000+

Languages: English, German

Favourite configuration: Sidemount

Goetz has been diving since 1987 and has logged over 10,000 dives — so yes, he’s seen a thing or two underwater. At just 11 years old he already knew he’d one day run his own dive centre. Fast forward a few decades, countless dives around the world, and a couple of grey hairs later: Daivoon was born.

He’s in the water nearly every single day. Whether it’s Discover Scuba Diving, guiding, or recreational courses, Goetz genuinely enjoys it all.

He teaches recreational courses, including Recreational Sidemount, and is currently working towards his XR Sidemount Instructor certification. Just don’t ask him about twinsets 😉 . He’s also on the path to becoming an SSI XR Divemaster, so you’ll often spot him hovering around tech courses, pretending not to listen while soaking up all the details.

Goetz is the kind of instructor who speaks his mind, cracks bad jokes, and somehow makes everyone feel comfortable and safe underwater — even if he doesn’t sugarcoat things. And when he’s not underwater, you’ll usually find him fixing something, telling stories from the “old days,” or trying to convince everyone that his way is the right way.

He’s not only guiding and instructing — he’s helping divers discover new skills, grow in confidence, and enjoy the water to the fullest.

XR Instructor | Photo Pro | Organisational Pro

Logged dives: 1400+

Instructor since: 2008

Courses taught: 300+

Languages: English, German and Spanish

Favourtie configuration: Twinset

Michi might be the most organised person in the team — but don’t be fooled into thinking she’s just running things from behind a desk. With over 1400 dives since she started in 1998, Michi is an experienced instructor with a serious passion for technical diving.

She’s a core part of our Extended Range team and teaches everything from Foundations to Extended Range Trimix. Her calm, steady approach makes her the perfect guide for anyone stepping into the sometimes- intimidating world of tech diving.

As one of the few female tech instructors on the island, Michi is a great mentor for other women in the sport. She brings a wealth of experience and practical tips for small-bodied divers — from smart gear configuration to custom solutions that improve comfort and efficiency. Being a petite diver herself (with famously tiny feet), she knows exactly how to adapt setups that aren’t always designed with smaller frames in mind.

When she’s not teaching or fine-tuning gear, Michi has a great eye behind the lens — capturing stunning underwater shots that showcase Lanzarote´s beauty beneath the surface.

Outside the water, Michi is our equipment service tech, public relations lead, and the one who keeps Daivoon running like a well-lubed regulator. And yes, her cakes still make her the most loved person in the dive center — even the most hardcore tec divers sometimes have a sweet tooth.

Michi isn’t just guiding dives and teaching — she’s helping others grow into confident, comfortable divers at their own pace.

Favourtie configuration: Twinset

Half German, half Irish, and 100% Daivooner, Liam is the youngest member of the team — but don’t let that fool you. He’s been part of Daivoon since the age of 11, when he caught the diving bug during a try dive with Goetz. What started as a spark quickly became a lifelong passion – and a profession.

Today, Liam is a full-on Extended Range Instructor with a sharp sense of humour, a meticulous eye for gear setups, and a drive to help divers not just pass courses — but truly understand what they’re doing underwater.

He soaks up dive theory like a sponge – no matter the agency. He looks far beyond the boundaries of a single system and is driven by one goal: to dive well, no matter where the knowledge comes from.

He´s also a walking encyclopedia when it comes to equipment. Looking for something new? Thinking about tweaking your current setup? Just ask – chances are high, he´s got more then one useful tip ready for you.

Whether he’s teaching XR Foundations, Extended Range Trimix, or DPV diving, he always adds that “little extra” to push his students toward independence, confidence, and solid dive skills.

He loves to teach in a Twinset, but he´s also an outstanding XR Sidemount instructor — if you ask nicely.

When he’s not in the water, you´ll find him fine-tuning the centre´s systems, testing new gear configs, or passionately debating the “right” way to dive (Spoiler: there is none, but he still loves the debate).

Liam doesn´t just teach diving. He helps shape divers.
