The SSI Extended Range Nitrox Course is an advanced training program designed for divers interested in extending their diving limits using enriched air nitrox blends. This course provides divers with the skills and knowledge necessary to safely plan and execute dives beyond recreational limits while utilizing nitrox as a breathing gas.

Prerequisites

Age:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Certification:
Requires a deep diving and enriched air nitrox 40 certification.
Experience:
A minimum of 24 logged dives
Equipment:
this course can be completed in either a sidemoutn or twinset configuration.

Course

Theory Sessions:
In-depth theoretical knowledge covering nitrox diving principles, gas planning, oxygen exposure limits, equipment considerations, and emergency procedures specific to extended range diving.
Confined Water Training:
Skills practice in a controlled environment focusing on gas switching, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures while using nitrox blends. ( 1 dive)
Open Water Dives:
Practical application of extended range nitrox diving techniques, including gas management, decompression planning, and emergency response scenarios. (4 dives)
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, with a final practical and theoretical exam to evaluate understanding and proficiency.

The SSI Extended Range Nitrox Course provides divers with the training necessary to safely plan and execute dives beyond recreational limits using enriched air nitrox blends. However, it’s important to note that this course does not certify divers for technical diving. Instead, it serves as a foundation for further technical diving training and allows divers to explore extended range diving within the limits of their training and experience.
This course allows you to dive to 40 meters and do 15 minutes of accalerated decompression.

Air for Backgas is included in the prices. All other gases are at extra charge. Equipment can be rented for the courses. For equipment prices check here.
