The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving Course is designed for divers who want to explore wrecks more deeply and safely, whether navigating through complex structures or penetrating interior spaces. This course builds on basic wreck diving skills, focusing on advanced techniques and safety protocols.
Prerequisites
Age:
Must be at least 15 years old.
Certification:
Requires an Open Water Diver certification and the SSI Wreck Diving Specialty or equivalent from a recognized training agency.
Experience:
A minimum of 24 logged dives, including experience in wreck diving, is required to ensure sufficient diving competence.
Course
Theory Sessions:
Detailed theoretical knowledge covering advanced wreck diving planning, risk assessment, penetration techniques, and emergency procedures.
Confined Water Training:
Skills practice in a controlled environment focusing on line-handling, reel deployment and navigation (1 dive)
Open Water Dives:
A series of open water dives to apply advanced wreck diving techniques, including navigation within wrecks, penetration procedures (4 dives)
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, with a final practical and theoretical evaluation to ensure mastery of advanced wreck diving skills.
