The SSI Decompression Diving Course is an advanced training program designed for divers interested in extending their dive times and exploring deeper depths while managing decompression stops safely. This course provides divers with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and execute decompression dives using enriched air nitrox.

Prerequisites

Age:
Must be at least 16 years old.
Certification:
Requires an Deep Diving and Enriched Air Nitrox 40 certification
Experience:
A minimum of 24 logged dives
Equipment:
A primary donate Longhose setup must be used. A BC with apropriate D-Rings for attatching the decompression cylinder must be used.

Course

Theory Sessions:
In-depth theoretical knowledge covering decompression theory, gas planning, dive tables and software, equipment considerations, and emergency procedures specific to decompression diving.
Confined Water Training:
Skills practice in a controlled environment focusing on gas switching, buoyancy control at different depths, and emergency procedures. (1 dive)
Open Water Dives:
A series of open water dives to apply decompression diving techniques, including gas management, ascent/descent protocols, and decompression stop management. (3 dives)
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, with a final practical and theoretical exam to demonstrate proficiency in decompression diving procedures.

The SSI Decompression Diving Course is ideal for experienced divers looking to explore deeper depths and extend their bottom times while adhering to safe decompression practices.

Air for Backgas is included in the prices. All other gases are at extra charge. Equipment can be rented for the courses. For equipment prices check here.
