The SSI XR Sidemount Course is an advanced training program designed for divers interested in mastering the sidemount configuration for technical diving. Prerequisites

Age:
Must be at least 16 years old.
Certification:
Requires an Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from a recognized training agency.
Experience:

Course

Theory Sessions:
In-depth theoretical knowledge covering sidemount diving principles, equipment configuration, gas management, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures.
Confined Water Training:
Skills practice in a controlled environment focusing on sidemount equipment setup, buoyancy control, gas management, and emergency procedures specific to sidemount diving. (1 dive)
Open Water Dives:
Practical application of sidemount diving techniques, including gas switching, buoyancy adjustments, and problem-solving scenarios in real-world diving conditions. (4 dives)
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, with a final practical and theoretical exam to evaluate understanding and proficiency.
