The SSI XR Foundations Course is an introductory program designed for divers interested in exploring technical diving principles and equipment configurations. This course provides divers with a foundational understanding of technical diving concepts and prepares them for more advanced technical diving training.
Prerequisites
Age:
Must be at least 16 years old.
Certification:
Requires an Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from a recognized training agency.
Experience:
A minimum of 24 logged dives is recommended to ensure comfort and competence in the water.
Course
Theory Sessions:
Introduction to technical diving principles, gas management, equipment configuration, dive planning, and safety procedures.
Confined Water Training:
Skills practice in a controlled environment focusing on buoyancy control, trim, finkicks, equipment configuration, gas management, and emergency procedures specific to technical diving. ( 4 dives)
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course.

Single Tank
Twinset
One of the advanced options for completing this course is mastering the configuration of your Backplate and Wing setup. Learn to perfect this technical configuration and optimize it for your diving needs.
Sidemount
Alternatively, you can complete this course with a sidemount configuration. You will cover the same technical skills as the Twinset version, but in the sidemount setup, allowing you to master this configuration and its unique advantages.
